2014 KGSP for International Students Enrolled in Graduate Programs in Kookmin University

The Korean Government Scholarship Program is designed to provide higher education in Korea for international students, with the aim of promoting international exchange in education, as well as mutual friendship amongst the participating countries.

The important information of 2014 KGSP selection is as below and please refers to the attached Guideline for details.

The grantees will receive the following benefits from the Korean Government as well as Kookmin University

Scholarship (Korean Government)

  • Airfare: Round-trip economy class ticket
  • Monthly Allowance: KRW 900,000 per month
  • Research Allowance: KRW 210,000 for scholars in the humanities and social sciences; KRW 240,000 for scholars in natural and mechanic sciences, per semester
  • Relocation (Settlement) Allowance: KRW 200,000 upon arrival
  • Language Training Fee: Full coverage
  • Tuition: All admission fees and tuition
  • Dissertation Printing Cost: KRW 500,000 ~ 800,000 depending on the actual costs
  • Medical Insurance: KRW 20,000 per month (limited coverage)
  • Special funding for scholars who are proficient in the Korean language (TOPIK Level 5 or above): KRW 100,000 per month (commencing from the degree program)

Scholarship (Kookmin University)

  • Research Fund (KRW 400,000 per semester)
  • Free Dormitory
  • Free Korean Language Courses
  • Global Buddy Program
  • Cultural Activities (Visiting Historic and Industrial Sites)

Important Information for the 2014 Selection

  • Place of Submission: International Affairs Division, Kookmin University
  • Deadline of Submission: Mar 3rd (Mon) ~ Mar 21st (Fri)
  •  The applicant and his/her parents must have foreign citizenships
  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as of August 31st, 2014
  • Required documents: please refer to the attached Guideline
